Home Made Acne Treatments

Everyone’s skin breaks out from time to time. A proper routine of gentle cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturizing is enough to keep most skin healthy. However, if you are prone to acne, you may need to take some steps to care for your skin.
We typically think of acne as occurring on the face, but it can occur on the back as well. You need not visit a dermatologist or purchase expensive acne products. There are a number of ways to treat your acne at home. Here are some tested and proven acne solutions.

Home Made Acne Treatments

Vinegar Wash
Vinegar has anti-bacterial properties and can help kill the bacteria that cause acne. Using a cotton ball, apply vinegar to your face. Massage into place gently with your fingers, using upwards circular motions, for about 2 minutes. Then rinse your face with cool water. Use only a small amount of vinegar when doing this treatment to avoid skin irritation.

Oatmeal Mask
Oatmeal is an effective solution for handling oily skin. You can use rolled oats or oatmeal flour to make a paste to use as a gentle scrub or mask for your face. To help close your pores afterwards, use a cool rinse. Remember, even oily skin needs moisturizer, so follow your mask with an appropriate product.

Honey Mask
Honey is more than just delicious. It has well been known to have healing and anti-bacterial properties. To make this mask, peel a ripe apple and grate the fruit into a bowl. Mix in one teaspoon of honey and apply the mask to your face. Allow to work for 15 to 20 minutes, then rinse it off with warm water. For best results, try using this mask twice a week. You can also use a mashed banana in place of the apple if you like.

Tea Tree Oil Spot Treatment
Tea Tree Oil is another product with powerful anti-bacterial properties. If you have an especially bad or sudden outbreak, try using a few drops of tea tree oil on the affected areas. Let the oil work for 15 minutes, then rinse it off with warm water. After a few days of this treatment, you should begin to see a marked improvement.

Egg White Mask
An egg white mask applied to affected area will help remove blemishes from the skin. You can use an egg white mask every night for a week. All you need to do is place an egg white in a bowl, stir it gently, then apply to the face. Leave the egg white on to dry overnight, or if your skin is sensitive, remove it after 30 minutes by rinsing with water. You can also add ¾ of a teaspoon of lemon juice to this mixture.
